Why Happy Ratters?

• Any dog can play Happy Ratters

• No prior experience needed

• Great for confidence building, teamwork, and pure fun

• Suitable for both beginners and experienced rat‑hunting teams

2 opportunities to learn more about the fun scent sport.

In the morning session, Instructor Darla Lacey will guide you and your dog through through the basics of Happy Ratters, where dogs search for safely contained rats hidden in tubes throughout a simulated “urban” environment — clean trash bags, boxes, barrels, and other alley‑style items.

In the afternoon session, Instructor Darla, will introduce several of the games that are designed to test specific tasks/skills of a dog and handler teamwork. Games are open to all dogs competing in Happy Ratters.

Introduction to Happy Ratters: 9:00am – 12:00pm

• Rules and instruction

• Hands‑on practice for working teams

• One‑dog‑at‑a‑time working format

Cost

• Working Spot: $75 (limited to 10 teams)

• Audit Spot: $25 (unlimited)

Happy Ratters Games: 1:00pm – 4:00pm

 ***Prerequisite: Introduction to Happy Ratters workshop
