Barn Hunt Workshop
The 2025 Summer Barn Hunt Series completed another engaging and educational session, the Focus & Drive Workshop, led by renowned trainer Kristy Netzer of Music City Dog Sports. Held as part of a seasonal training initiative, the six-hour workshop offered an in-depth look at key fundamentals of Barn Hunt, breaking the sport down into practical, teachable segments for both dogs and handlers.
Eight enthusiastic canine participants—Ren, Tallulah, Rocco, Rhobi, Rowdy, Whitney, Sora, and Bingo—tackled a series of targeted exercises designed to boost clarity, confidence, and drive in the Barn Hunt ring. Each dog showed impressive progress throughout the day, with handlers and auditors walking away with valuable insights and practical takeaways.

“We were so proud of every dog in attendance,” said Kate Crawford, one of the workshop organizers. “By the conclusion of the session, each and every pup was fully engaged and working with purpose. The transformation was incredible to watch.”

Kristy Netzer’s thoughtful instruction and positive approach made the learning process enjoyable and empowering. Participants praised her ability to communicate complex ideas with clarity, while offering each team the individual attention needed to progress.
“One of the biggest lessons I personally took from the workshop,” said one of the organizers, “was that Barn Hunt doesn’t have to be taught as one massive, complicated task. It’s really a series of smaller, manageable lessons that build on one another. When you approach it that way, it’s not only more effective—it’s more fun for the dog, too.”

The Focus & Drive Workshop is the second installment in this summer’s Barn Hunt Series, with more events and opportunities on the horizon. Organizers encourage dog sport enthusiasts to stay tuned for future workshops, including the possibility of another session with Netzer, whose impact on this event was undeniable.
